The West Oxfordshire Learning Partnership (WOLP) comprises the secondary schools in West Oxfordshire: The Henry Box School, Bartholomew School, Burford School, Carterton Community College, Chipping Norton School, The Marlborough School and Wood Green School. WOLP schools work collaboratively and share good practice in terms of teaching and learning, staff training and curriculum development.
Examples of WOLP developments are as follows:
The provision of middle and aspirant senior leadership programmes and other professional development courses for the benefit of teachers employed in WOLP schools.
A school-based initial teacher training programme, School Direct, in collaboration with Oxford University Department of Educational Studies.
Assistance with funding for the creation of the successful skills centre in Witney which provides practical training and qualifications as part of the KS4 curriculum for a small group of students in WOLP schools. The programme is delivered and accredited through Abingdon & Witney College; students learn skills for the building trade including decorating and plastering.
The secondary schools in WOLP work together to implement 'In Year Fair Access' protocols and oversee the delegation of funding to support vulnerable students at risk of exclusion and to support schools receiving students who have been excluded.
