Insurance Sales Apprenticeship:

Howden’s sales teamwork with various clients, helping them protect the things that matter most to them. This is split into two areas; Personal Lines (Consumer) supporting individuals with personal risks such as home, car and health insurance and Commercial Lines which works on providing cover for risks that are unique to their business.

You will start your career as a Sales Advisor, learning how to sell insurance solutions to clients and understand the world of insurance from the ground up. During the apprenticeship you will:

• Learn the foundations of insurance and sales through hands-on learning.
• Support brokers with finding new clients and sourcing relevant insurance packages.  
• Draft professional emails for clients and learn how to manage calls with clients and insurers, answering their questions.
• Use your relationship management skills to provide exceptional customer service. 

Who can apply:      

No experience in insurance is required; Howden will teach you everything you need to know! 

• Final year sixth form/college students or recent college leavers are the main target for these roles, but those in Yr 11 are also welcome to apply.  
• Applications are open to all students who have achieved a Grade C or 4 in GCSE English and Maths, with great communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.

• Online gamified assessment: These games will help Howden understand your natural strengths and how you approach different situations. There are no right or wrong answers.
• Pre-recorded video interview: You will record your answers, giving you the chance to tell us more about yourself in your own time in a relaxed setting.  
• Assessment centre: The final stage is an in-person assessment day at one of our offices close to you. All your travel costs for this day will be covered!
