DofE Information session for families
Do you have a child that might be interested in taking part in The Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Awards?
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a national youth charity that operates throughout the UK and was founded by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh in 1956. The DofE programme is open to young people between the ages of 14 – 24 and provides an opportunity for participants to experience new activities or develop existing skills. The Henry Box School is a directly licensed organisation with The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and currently offers the Duke of Edinburgh's Award at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels.
- Bronze is offered to Year 9
- Silver is offered to Year 10
- Gold is offered at Year 12

Students in Years 9 and 10 will have the opportunity to attend an information session during lunch time on Tuesday 15 October or Wednesday 16 October, to find out more. Year 12 will get some information in their assembly on Friday 18 October. There will also be a families’ session on Thursday 17 October at 6:00pm in the Main Hall which will include information from School of Outdoors who are our Expedition Section provider School of Outdoors website.
Application forms will be available at each of the student information sessions or from Reception if your child would like to collect one, alternatively the application form will also available on the DofE pages on the school website.
