Scholars Graduate at King’s College London
Posted on: 03/05/2018The Year 9 students on The Scholars Programme graduated at King’s College, London on Saturday. After crossing the River Thames and admiring the stunning London skyline - The London Eye, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Big Ben – the students and their parents explored The South Bank before arriving at King’s College London. King’s College is one of Britain’s top Russell Group universities and we were given interesting and inspiring talks by students and visiting lecturers from the university. Students then formally received their certificates for the essays they have written as part of The Scholars Programme. All our students achieved a 2:1 grade or a First Class grade. These grades are equivalent to good and excellent grades at ‘A’ level. The officer for the Scholars Programme said;
‘The pupils at your school have achieved a really impressive set of results. This is very unusual, and the pupils should be really proud of what they have achieved.’
It was lovely to spend time with both the students and their parents and I did feel extremely proud of them. The messages that I came away with were aim high, work hard and see setbacks and struggle as part of the learning journey. There is an amazing world out there to be discovered!
