Year 13 Careers Day
Posted on: 01/03/2022Year 13 put their problem-solving skills to the test with the aim of building a bridge to hold a toy car for 20 seconds. Not as easy as it sounds when the building materials were spaghetti and marshmallows! Students worked in groups of 3/4, developing key employability skills such as creative thinking, analysing, planning, collaborating ideas and communication. It was a lot of fun too! In the second session we were fortunate to have two employer presentations by Kier Construction and Ridgeway on the opportunities available and working within two key growth industries, Construction and Digital Media.
'We use teambuilding activities just like the one your students have completed this morning; as an employer we feel this is a great tool for developing employability skills"
Graham from Ridgeway
