Year 10 GCSE D&T Bird Boxes
Posted on: 10/05/2018Back in October/November, a number of Year 10 GCSE D&T students made some wooden bird boxes. This was to help illustrate how a production line system can be employed to make many of the same products very quickly and efficiently and with minimal wasted time and material. They were made from old wooden delivery pallets, and so recycling and reusing to protect the environment was a key part of the project.
And so, now that it is spring, with the assistance of a few Year 7 students, we put 10 of them up around our site. We simply looked for suitable trees, that were visible to classrooms and offices so that birds could be seen coming and going over the spring/summer.
We are looking forward to seeing some feathered visitors.
