P&C - Physical Education

Physical Education at Henry Box School is designed to provide our individual pupils with a varied and enriched curriculum. Lessons are structured to enthuse, engage and enhance learning and promote healthy life styles. The ethos of the PE Department is to provide all pupils with the skills required to access and enjoy physical activities and to ensure all pupils are active and leading healthy lifestyles and to provide a platform for self-discovery and growth. We provide our pupils with the guidance, support, tools and opportunities to progress, overcome barriers and build crucial life skills for the future. By equipping our pupils with the relevant knowledge and skills, we enable them to develop and grow into confident, healthy leaders and engaged citizens of the future.

Our aim is to ensure that all students enjoy taking part in physical activity and through this promote healthy, active lifestyles which encourages a lifelong in involvement in sport and physical activity.

Students receive four hours of core PE per fortnight in KS3 and three hours per fortnight in KS4. GCSE, BTEC (level 2) AS and A2 PE are popular options in KS 4 & 5 and we also offer the students the opportunity to gain Sports Leaders qualifications in year 10.
